On Wednesday, 22nd July 2026, His Excellency Prof. Justice Solomon Korantwi-Barimah, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Arab Republic of Egypt together with the Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Mohammed Ibn Abass, and staff of the Ghana Embassy visited the St. Bishoy Monastery in Natroum Valley, Egypt. The visit follows a courtesy call on His Excellency the Ambassador by Father Wissa Sudani, who is currently the Priest of St. Mark’s Church in Ghana and Secretary to the Papal Vicar of West Africa, during which discussions were held on matters relating to the role of the Coptic Church in Ghana as well as its services to the society. The delegation was given a tour of the Monastery and its rich history by the deputy to the Head of the Monastery, Father Pavlos Anba Bishoy and the translator and guide for foreign visitors, Father Abakir Anba Bishoy. His Excellency the Ambassador expressed gratitude for the invitation and underscored the significant role being played by the Coptic Church in Ghana, assuring the Church of the Embassy’s continuous support in the deepening of relations between the Church and Ghana for their mutual benefit.
